1853. Etching with drypoint in blackish brown ink on antique cream laid paper with a large crown and crescent moon watermark, 8 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches (215 x 119 mm); sheet 14 1/2 x 10 3/4 inches (362 x 272 mm), full margins. The fifth state (of 7). In excellent condition with very minor uniform toning and several scattered spots of light discoloration that is visible under raking light. A rich and dark impression with excellent inking and superb detail. An exceptional example.
