Very light bump at the tail of the spine, else the binding is in fine condition. Pages clean and binding tight. Copy 53 out of 1000 printed, this one on vélin teinté. 7th volume in the series Collection de l'Amour des livres published by René Kieffer.

This attractive and beautifully-bound volume fits in the period's vogue for exploration of African exoticism, with decorative borders on each page inspired by native African designs. The first edition of this fictional depiction of life in the Congo and environs appeared in 1924.
