JOHN O'CONNOR (1913 – 2004) was a British painter, engraver, illustrator, teacher and author who studied under Eric Ravilious and John Nash. His work was the subject of several exhibition both during his life time and posthumously and his work is held in many public collections including the Arts Council, Tate Gallery ,and the British Museum.
His work "is filled with a profound - almost romantic - love of the natural world. He had a pastoral vision, albeit one imbued with melancholy, at the passing of time and a changing world." (The Guardian, 19 Mar 2004).
