Chateau at Fontaine-le-Henri, near Caen
London: J & A Arch; & John Sell Cotman, 1821. Etching with engraving on Charles Wise 1819 watermarked wove paper, 14 x 9 1/2 inches (354 x 240 mm), full margins. Scattered light and unobtrusive areas of minor discoloration throughout, most visible in the upper-right sheet quadrant. Several small framer's notations in pencil on the verso, as well as what appears to be a light area of ink wash spill which carries over to the recto and is present along the extreme sheet edge in the lower right margin. All condition issues are well outside of the image area. Etched by Cotman after his own drawing of the same subject.
