This image, which was produced entirely by means of lithography, was printed in oil color, and appears exactly as it was pulled from the press. It represents part of the first real challenge to the supremacy in England of the hand colored aquatint as a media, which is an older technique in which the hand coloring is applied after the image is pulled from the press. Printed by Charles Hullmandel.

This peaceful winterscape depicts the 13th century hospital and abbey known as Bijloke, a section of Ghent. An impression of this work appears in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
