First, Limited Edition. 8vo, 9 1/2 x 6 3/8 inches (244 x 160 mm); 359 pp. Half title, limitation page, frontispiece portrait photograph by Arnold Genthe, title page printed in black and blue with decorative border; 23 photographic plates. Polished black cloth with beveled boards, red morocco title label, gilt lettering, black endpapers with facsimile of Duncan's signature in gold ink, top edge red gilt. Pages clean and very lightly toned, binding tight and clean with just the lightest rubbing on the lower corners.
Inscription in pen on the limitation page " To my friend Stanley Walker, Esq., with the affectionate regards of Denis Tilden Lynch / March 8, 1928
copy 396/650. The limitation page reads: "This presentation edition of My Life has been especially printed for the authors and other friends of Boni and Liveright The edition is limited to 650 copies, none of them for sale. | Copy No. 396 | January, 1928"
This extraordinary book was completed by Isadora Duncan(1877 – 1927) some months before her tragic death, which occurred through an automobile accident in Nice.
Our copy has an inscription by Denis Tilden Lynch (1844 – 1966) a political reporter for The New York Herald Tribune for 40 years who served as secretary of the New York Fire Department for 16 years.
