New York: William Morrow & Company, 1937. First Edition. Small 4to, soft cover, 10 x 7 7/8 in (255 x 198 mm), 196 leaves, including several telegrams, handwritten letters and notes, sample evidence including fabric samples and a small lipstick mounted in a cardboard holder. Bound in yellow paper wrappers with original brown ribbon. Pages and covers toned and a few page corners curled but overall in very good condition for a loose-page publication.

The William Morrow series "Crimefile" reproduced dossiers of crimes, daring the buyer to solve the crime using the evidence, as a police detective would. As stated on the cover “This file contains the complete dossier of a crime, with every clue and item of evidence preserved in its, original, physical form, exactly as it might have been received at Police Headquarters. The crime was a murder. The police solved it. Can you?”
Crimefile #3 is based on the baffling deaths of Dr. Ferdinand A. Fenton and his attractive young secretary Pauline Farr at the Greenlands Academy for Boys, at Greenland’s, N. J.
