London: Company of Stationers, 1831. 24mo; 4 1/8 x 2 1/4 in. (107 x 60 mm); pp. 64 + 12 blank sheets front and back and several dispersed throughout the book. Some pencil notations on blank pages; black embossed morocco with elaborate gilt tooling, dainty floral decorations and corner palmettes on boards, floral designs in spine compartments; a.e.g., marbled endpapers; two silver clasps, fully functioning, to clamp the booklet shut. Rusting on end papers from the clasp fastings, not affecting text pages; binding solid and with no significant wear.
The title page reads: Goldsmith. An Almanack for the Year of Our Lord M.DCCC.XXXII. Being the Bissextile, or LEAP-YEAR. Comprehending Celestial Phenomena and Useful Tables; with the proper days and hours for transferring stocks and receiving dividends; Lists of Holidays, Law terms, great Officers of the Sate; Members of the two Houses of Parliament, Universities, Schools, City Officers, &c. By John Goldsmith.

An elegantly-bound and beautifully preserved classic among almanacs that were all the rage starting in the 17th century. Goldsmith first published his almanac in 1663 and it ran in similar form until the mid-nineteenth century. Most editions are uncommon of this 1832 almanac; no copies found in WorldCat.
