Paris: 1860. Etching with engraving on Chine collé mounted to a wove paper matrix with a false platemark, 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches (115 x 165 mm); matrix 12 1/2 x 17 1/2 inches (317 x 445 mm), full margins. A third state (of 3) impression. In good condition with some minor marginal toning and surface soiling.

Known in three states, the early states prior to the publication in the periodical Les Beaux-Arts: Illustration des Arts et de la Littérature are scarcer, while the third state often appears on chine collé or standard laid/wove paper (sometimes with a Louvre Chalcographie blindstamp in later restrikes).
