Mademoiselle Cyclone
Paris: Sagot, c1907. Drypoint etching on Chine-collé mounted to wove paper, 21 1/2 x 17 1/4 inches (546 x 438 mm); sheet 26 1/2 x 21 5/8 inches (674 x 550 mm), full margins. Signed and numbered "50" in pencil in the lower margin. Significant printing anomaly along the top and bottom plate marks, resulting in a thinning of the sheet which is reinforced with archival tape on the verso.
[Tabanelli 249].
A wonderful, rare image by a pivotal 19th century Printmaker whose work serves as a bridge between social realism and the exuberant, often gritty glamour of Parisian cabaret culture.
