Exquisitely detailed and printed engravings, perhaps the best images of all the Phipps books for Whittington.
Howard Phipps (b.1954) is a painter, printmaker and illustrator with a special interest in wood engraving. He studied painting at the Gloucestershire College of Art and has pecialized in engraving since the late 1970's. He has has exhibited widely in group and one-man shows and is a member of The Royal West of England Academy and the Society of Wood Engravers.
